This version of CFT is set in a dark ,dystopian Russian circus with the lead ladies recruited from Indian and Chinese circuses. Ferrando and Guglielmo accept Alfonso's wager and make their plan - they will pretend to their lovers that they have been called off to war. Unbeknown to Dorabella and Fiordiligi, the men will return in disguise to try and seduce each other's fiancée, in disguises from their respective countries, however as a stark , blaring stereotype.
